About

ABOUT SCRAPSTORE

SCRAPSTORE, Swindon is a low cost community resource centre and environmental charity that is home to a multitude of projects dedicated to releasing the untapped potential of all things, people and possibilities.

An Aladdin’s cave of materials ready to stimulate your imagination. From Crafts to Furniture, Reclamations to DIY and Play – The SCRAPSTORE, Swindon has something for you.

Visited as often by members of the general public as schools, community groups, child-minders, nurseries, colleges, students, youth groups, after school clubs, crafters, art and drama groups. We believe access to low cost creative materials and DIY resources should not be exclusive – its as simple as coming along.

A community of people united by the ambition to think creatively, live richly and think outside of the box.

SUPPORTING SCRAPSTORE

With pressure mounting on businesses to reduce waste outputs and dispose of their surplus responsibly our supply chain is win-win from top to bottom.

The SCRAPSTORE actively assist businesses by collecting their safe, surplus materials to be stored and distributed through our Resource Warehouse.

SCRAPSTORE CHARITY STRUCTURE

SCRAPSTORE employs five part-time members of staff to oversee the day-to-day running of our projects and to help supervise our 20 part-time volunteers and supported employees.

At the head of the project is Olivia McCann who recently won a ‘Pride of Swindon’ Award and has led the operation for the best part of a decade.

It is our member demand that is ultimately responsible for the evolution and direction of SCRAPSTORE with developments governed by our constitution and managed by our Management Committee volunteers. In addition our trustees provide the strategic vision for the organisation and offer their expertise in guiding the project forward.

Currently these members are; Sarah Connell (Acting Chair) Simon Cheney (Treasurer) Sally Huggins (Committee Member). To find out how to become a trustee contact Olivia on 01793 513 982.
